Artistreenc.com looks forward to guiding you on fun and informative tours of artists’ studios and galleries in the Toe River Region of North Carolina. Located in the heart of the beautiful Blue Ridge and Appalachian Mountains, this area is home to hundreds of artists and craftspeople, acclaimed galleries and the Penland School of Craft, a nationally renowned center for craft education. Join us for the opportunity to experience the natural beauty of the mountains of western North Carolina, observe the creative process of artisans, and purchase original works.

We offer many tour options. You may select to use our van service to locations or you may travel in your own vehicles.

Planned Tours

Customized Tours

• Full or ½ day tours are available based on customers’ interest in specific art mediums, artists, or geographical areas in the mountain counties. Artist/Craft media in the area includes:

• Tour Cost:
  $50.00 per person for full day, minimum 4 persons; $35 per person for ½ day, minimum 4 persons

Rates for ½ and full day tours are based on a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 12 persons. Tours for groups smaller than 4 persons are $200 for a full day and $140 for ½ day. Reservations with payment are needed to secure tours.

Due to distances between studios/galleries, it is best to plan full-day trips from approximately 9:30 am to 4:30 pm including a lunch stop. Customers may order picnic lunches or gourmet lunch stops can be arranged. Half day trips can be scheduled for 3.5 hours during mornings or afternoons. We suggest allowing 15 minutes at each location and 10-20 minutes travel time between stops, depending on studios/galleries selected. A leisure ½ or full-day might include 5-10 studio/gallery visits.
